Bridge Closure - Business As Usual

From Monday 17th October the bridge over which the Carington Arms is approached from Gaddesby and Barsby will be closed for repairs for up to four weeks.

Park and Stride: Park on the far side of the bridge and walk to the Carington Arms.  Owing to unforseen difficulties with the bridge work, pedestrian access across the bridge may not be possible until next Monday, 24th October, although it may be possible from Friday 21st October.  In the meantime an alternative pedestrian route is being signposted from the Barsby Road via the cricket field.

Alternative Routes: From Syston, Queniborough and other villages to the west, drive to the Carington Arms via the South Croxton / Twyford road to Twyford and approach Ashby Folville from Twyford.

From Melton Mowbray: Customers should drive via Thorpe Satchville and Twyford.

On Sunday we serve a traditional Sunday Lunch with a choice of meats and, of course, vegetarian dishes are always available.

Our Festive Menu will be available from 25th November to 22nd December with a special menu for Christmas Day and a Brunch Menu on Boxing Day and New Years Day.

Recreation & Celebration

An added bonus for the pub is the skittle alley, which can be booked for skittle evenings as well as private functions.  There is also a pool table and darts board.

The Carington Arms is set in the centre of the delightful village of Ashby Folville adjacent to it’s picturesque cricket field; a popular location for marquee based Wedding Receptions.

On a respectful note, the pub is close to The Willows natural burial ground and a convenient location for Funeral Wakes which are handled with the sensitivity they deserve.

The Carington Arms Your Hosts

Since September 2015 the Carington Arms has been under the management of Catherine Kersey.  Catherine was formerly the manager of the cafe bar at the Broadway Cinema in Nottingham and has more recently project managed the opening of two successful new bars attached to the Tyneside Cinema in the centre of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.  She is assisted by her husband, Guy Kersey, an event management specialist.

The third member of the team is chef, Dave Horton, who brings his experience of producing good food at value for money prices.

They are supported by a cheerful team of bar and kitchen staff who aim to ensure you enjoy your visit to the Carington Arms.
